We've come here a few times over the years because the chicken is juicy and the wife LOVES the green sauce that comes with it. They have good sides. We usually get the cucumber salad and the Mac' n Cheese. Usually it takes 90 minutes for your order to be ready when ordering it online, so be mindful of that.
The green sauce is so good! Get extra. I put it on everything! The ribs are consistently good here, juicy and tender. The chicken can occasionally be a bit dry. Try not to come here during popular hours because this place can be a madhouse. People crammed in a small space, in front of the cashier area, waiting for their orders. The inside of this place (dining/ serving area) is a hodge podge of stacked boxes and counters. Could really use a renovation but the food is good so what does that matter. You are not coming here for the atmosphere. I would recommend takeout. Seating. There is some small tables and chairs. Depending on when you get here, behind a glass wall, you can see a multitude of chickens cooking on the grill. This place can be super busy so I suggest you call your order in. Even then there may still be a wait, so don't rush over to pick it up. For holidays, plan on ordering ahead of time. This place gets slammed. Note: closed on Sundays.
This place is fantastic for the times you want to feed your family a BIG MEAL. I was looking over the menu a few days before a family gathering for Mother's Day and noticed that the ribs were sold out for the day. Pro tip: Pre order the day before your event to secure a meal and pick up time. Order was waiting for me and was still warm when we opened it at my sister's place. They told me that they were backed up with a 2 hour wait because they were slammed with orders. (Planning ahead is wise!) Ordered the Whole chicken and Rack of ribs family meal. It came with 4 sides. Paid an extra $5 for a pint container of green sauce. So worth it. Sides were Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, red potatoes, and corn. All delicious. Chicken was tender and so good, but the star was the ribs. I was worried that there wasn't enough, but there were a lot of ribs in their whole rack order. No sauce on them, but didn't need it. Green sauce did make them even better. Total cost was about $65 and fed family of 4 easily with leftovers. For great food and value, highly recommend. Overall, super satisfied and will order again for next family gathering. Will say that you will need someone to run into the restaurant to pick up the food while someone waits in the car because the parking lot is small and can get pretty full.
My family absolutely loves the ribs and chicken from this place! The chicken is incredibly juicy, and the ribs are so tender that they practically fall off the bone, bursting with flavor. Our favorite sides are the yellow rice, red roasted potatoes, and the mac n' cheese, all served with a grilled pita bread on top. I highly recommend ordering ahead and opting for pickup, as it tends to get busy and the food takes a while to prepare. While the interior might appear a bit rundown, it's not the ideal spot for dining in unless you're okay with smelling like smoky grilled chicken afterward. Therefore, takeout is definitely the way to go.
Chicken is slammmmmmming, very well flavored. A little charred but it's alright. Service was pretty good, the cashier was very nice and welcoming. The green sauce was outta this world. I put that on EVERYTHING. And I mean everything. The sides are........... nothing special but the chicken makes up for it in my opinion. Will definitely come back!
Whenever I ask anyone that lives in the Bayside area if they know Chicken Lovers I usually see their eyes get a little misty and they fight the urge to drool. Once composed, they usually respond "of course!", or "Soooo goood..." something along those lines haha. Count me in as one of their fans. I once thought the chicken itself was rotisserie then they finish it on the grill, but nope. You can see photos of spatchcocked chickens all spread evenly over grills giving it a nice grilled flavor while keep everything juicy and delicious. Fun fact - I actually never been inside, but I've had this delivered many times. Its been a comforting go to the past few years. I usually get a family combo of a whole chicken and 3 sides that I make a few meals out of it or share it if I am feeling generous lol. The whole chicken usually is more than an actual whole chicken (I mean how many chickens have 3 drumsticks?) it seems whatever they can pack into a large container. A grilled pita rests on top of the pieces. My favorite side from here is probably the red roasted potatoes - buttery with dill they are just so good. Corn, Rice, Broccoli, cucumber salad, mashed potatoes or if you are feeling indulgent you can get the mac & cheese. Never a complaint with any side they have. Of course the green sauce is killer here. I always use Pio Pio as a frame of reference for this sauce because its where I first had it. They also serve ribs. I've had them before but they are not my favorite but no big deal - the sign says CHICKEN lovers not Rib lovers so it tracks. Nothing is the bargain it may have once been, but they keep their prices reasonable and give you a lot for your money. This sign doesn't lie - Chicken Lovers is for chicken lovers!
Chicken is juicy Green sauce is so good Got the whole chicken, Mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes Kids likes the sides Parking is hectic but there's parking in the neighborhood I would call and order ahead cus it can get really busy Price went up a little. Always get more green sauce Extra green sauce (4 packs is $2) Some buy the 1/2 qt or qt
I always drove by this spot since I live in the area, and recently started ordering here. Hands down, the best chicken spot. The chicken is over the grill on a hot fire, and cooked in front of you, they have a good options of sides and plain or bbq options for chicken. It's not a fancy restaurant, but by far my favorite chicken spot. The service girl at the register is always nice too. The place is big. But not many seats available, and the portions are massive. It's a good spot to have lunch or pick up dinner
Bayside Chicken Lovers is a Bayside staple and for good reason. This place is a no frills, delicious food. They have a few tables but not a lot of seating, most people usually just take out but this place has a very much hole in the wall type of feel. When I order I usually get their ribs and half a chicken. Their ribs are sooooo flavorful and the meat just falls right off the bone. The chicken is also super delicious and grilled very well and both of these proteins go perfectly with their tasty green sauce. As for sides we've tried their corn, potatoes, mashed potatoes, rice and Mac and cheese. They were all good but I would have to say my favorite were their potatoes. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Next time you are in the area, definitely stop by Chicken Lovers!!
